Why therapy?

People seek therapy for many reasons, but what these tend to share at root is a loss of meaning, purpose or direction in life - a sense that something has to give.

By listening to symptoms of suffering as meaningful messengers of soul, we can gain insight into what really needs attention.

Symptoms such as panic, anxiety, depression, destructive habits or relational breakdowns might be the trigger to seek support. Such experiences can mark a threshold - a crossing into unknown territory, often catalysed by big life events that might bring neglected issues to the surface.

Our life-stories shape who we are, yet sometimes they can become stuck and restrictive, reinforcing internal narratives that no longer serve us. By listening to symptoms of suffering as meaningful messengers of soul, we can gain insight into what really needs attention. It is often by stepping back from what we consciously ‘know’ that therapy can be felt as most liberating and transformative. Learn more

How does it work?

My approach is holistic, and integrates shared wisdoms from relational and embodied understandings of human experience.

A soulful and embodied way of working with mental health and the nature of distress.

Personal issues are understood as part of a broader social and cultural context, where these dynamics are understood to shape and influence how we experience ourselves and others in the world. By combining talking therapy with creative exploration and bodywork we can make room for deeper, less conscious experience to emerge. Learn more

Getting started

If you’d like to get in touch about starting therapy, I offer a free 15-20 minute phone call so that we can both better understand how we might be able to work together. If we decide this is a good fit, our first session will be a non-judgemental starting place to explore your needs in more depth.

Getting started can be the biggest hurdle, and the first session can feel understandably daunting. Whilst this is an ‘assessment’ session, it can be helpful to bear in mind that the process of therapy itself will be an ongoing space to re-assess and reflect on your needs as they change and evolve.
